Mr. Thomas began teaching at Terra Vista Middle School in March 2016. Before coming to Terra Vista, Mr. Thomas taught private trumpet lessons and substitute teaching in Cedar Park, Texas.

After graduating from Vista Ridge High School in 2010, Mr. Thomas went on to pursue a Music Education Degree from Texas Tech University. At Texas Tech he played with the Concert Band, Symphonic Band, Symphonic Wind Ensemble, and the Goin Band from Raiderland. He also sang with the Matador Singers, played in the trumpet choir, and worked as a backstage crew manager for Hemmle Recital Hall. While a student he was a member of Collegiate Texas Music Educators and Phi Mu Alpha Sinfonia, Music Fraternity. In Phi Mu Alpha, Mr. Thomas held many leadership positions and coordinated volunteers for the Texas Tech Jazz Festival. As a student teacher, Mr. Thomas worked with the middle school and high school bands at Idalou ISD and worked as a guest clinician for the Floydada Spirit of the Winds Marching Band.

Mr. Thomas is a member of the Texas Music Educators Association, Texas Bandmasters Association, Lubbock Civic Orchestra, Lubbock Concert Band, and Westwinds Brass Band.
