Frenship Middle School Announces New Assistant Principal

Entering his 14th year in education, Kyle Billett is looking forward to continuing serving Frenship families as Frenship Middle School’s newest Assistant Principal. Billett’s career first began as the Band Director at Lubbock ISD at Smylie Wilson Middle School, followed by six years of working for Shallowater ISD on both the high school and middle school levels as an assistant director. Since 2018, he has served as the Head Band Director at Frenship Middle School and is looking forward to serving on the Administration Team.

“When the Assistant Principal position opened up at FMS for this year, I couldn’t pass up the opportunity to be able to serve my campus on a deeper level,” said Billett. “FMS is a truly special place, and I am excited and thankful that I was chosen to help serve our students, staff, and community!”

Billett is excited to serve the students, staff, and families at Frenship Middle School in a new capacity this upcoming new school year.

“I’m looking forward to working with our campus community as we prepare to make the big move to our new campus home. We are definitely in a season of change, and while it can be difficult at times, change brings growth,” said Billett. “I look forward to seeing how our students and staff will shine through it all! Along with that, for myself, I am excited to learn from our amazing staff and how to support the needs of our students and families in this new role.”

Billett is a proud Frenship Alumni who attended Crestview Elementary, Bennett Intermediate, and Frenship Junior High before graduating from Frenship High School in 2006. He is married to his wife, Michalea, of six years who has served as the Choir Director at Terra Vista Middle School for the past five years.

“The family dynamic that FISD has is truly unique to this amazing school district - something I haven't experienced anywhere else,” said Billett. “While our district is growing, the feeling of it being a family remains unchanged and the mutual support between colleagues, families, and community is second to none! I love feeling like I "belong" in a place where I also get to work!”

Frenship ISD is very excited to have Kyle Billett on the Frenship Middle School Administration Team.
